The market witnessed a volatile session today. After a gap-up opening, Nifty fell and took support from 25430, followed by a recovery towards the level of 25580 and made bidirectional swings throughout the session in this range of 180 points hence closing negative near the level of 25400. The Bank Nifty index also followed the same trend, hence closing negative by 200 points near the level of 56770.
