The Nifty was volatile this week. It plunged towards the level of 24460, followed by a recovery from this level, hence closed on a negative note by -0.67%, approximately 166 points, while Bank Nifty was also volatile throughout the week, hence closed almost flat by 43 points positive. The Nifty Midcap Select index posted a bearish performance, falling by 1.71% (around 220 points). Meanwhile, the Nifty Smallcap Index managed to end slightly positive, up by 0.47%. Sector-wise, the Nifty IT index declined by 1.50%, the Auto sector dropped by 1.83%, and the FMCG sector was down by 0.98%. In summary, the overall market remained volatile throughout the week and closed on a negative note.
