Following U.S. President Trump's announcement of potential upcoming tariffs, pharmaceutical stocks dropped sharply today, falling between 3% and 4%. India, being a key supplier of medicines to the U.S., has been significantly impacted by the news, particularly due to concerns over tariffs on imported pharmaceuticals. Aurobindo Pharma’s stock declined by 4% to ₹1,094, Lupin dropped 3.33% to ₹1,937, Sun Pharma slipped by 2%, Natco Pharma fell 3.27%, and Granules India saw a decline of up to 3.5%. The proposed tariff policy is expected to raise production costs and could disrupt the business of the Indian pharmaceutical industry.
